About Us

The Aafiyah Project is a 501(c)(3) health & wellness nonprofit dedicated to addressing health disparities in underserved communities across the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Through holistic health promotion, community engagement, and youth development, we are fostering a lasting legacy of health and wellness for generations to come.

VISION

Empowered communities fostering a legacy of health and wellness for generations to come.

MISSION

To address health disparities in underserved communities in Prince George's County and the wider DMV area through health promotion, community engagement, and youth development.

CORE VALUE

Grounded in Service, Equity, Respect, Vision, Integrity, Collaboration, and Empowerment, our core values shape how we serve, partner, and lead. It centers on fairness, inclusivity, and collective empowerment in the pursuit of lasting health and wellness.

Our health promotion initiatives advance holistic well-being by centering four interconnected dimensions of wellness: social, emotional, physical, and spiritual health. Through these interwoven dimensions, we support women in cultivating balance, resilience, and sustainable wellness practices that strengthen individuals, families, and communities.

Our community engagement programs address physical health, mental health, food insecurity, compassionate giving, and other community-centered wellness priorities through outreach, education, service initiatives, and collective action. These efforts foster shared responsibility and a culture of healthy living grounded in connection, dignity, and care.

Our youth development efforts create supportive pathways for personal growth, leadership development, mentorship, and life skills—equipping young adults with the confidence, tools, and support needed to thrive within their communities and beyond.
