The Aafiyah Project is a 501 (c) (3) health & wellness organization established to help disrupt health disparities experienced by minorities in the Washington DC metropolitan area, and begin to build a legacy of health and wellness in the community.
To achieve health equity and scholastic excellence among the minority and underserved in the DMV area and beyond.
To embark on a holistic approach to “well-being” through health promotion and scholastic achievement for the minority and underserved in the Washington DC metro area. Our Health promotion programs include mental health, maternal & child health, and community engagement in healthy lifestyle activities. Our Scholastic programs serve the underserved and socially disadvantaged students by virtue of our out-of-school clubs, summer camps, and STEM enrichment.
These include the universally shared values of Accountability, Community Service, and Ethical Conduct.
Our promotion of “well-being” are carried out through health-promoting activities, innovative mentoring, education, and governance that reflect Islamic values and principles.

Al-Aafiyah is an Arabic term that encompasses the well-being of an individual. It includes being in a state of good health, being safeguarded from afflictions, and having adequate sustenance.
