About Us
The Aafiyah Project is a 501 (c) (3) health & wellness organization established to help disrupt health disparities experienced by minorities in the Washington DC metropolitan area, and begin to build a legacy of health and wellness in the community.
VISION
To achieve health equity and scholastic excellence among underrepresented and underserved populations in the Washington DC (DMV) area and beyond.
MISSION
To build a legacy of health and wellness by addressing health disparities through health promotion programs, community engagement, and providing scholastic achievement opportunities for the underserved and socially disadvantaged minority groups in the DMV.
CORE VALUE
These include the universally shared values of Accountability, Community Service, and Ethical Conduct.
Our health promotion programs include mental health, maternal & child health, and community engagement in healthy lifestyle activities. Our scholastic programs serve students in the community by virtue of our out-of-school clubs, summer camps, and STEM enrichment program partnerships.
This promotion of health & wellness will be carried out using evidence-based public health practices, innovative mentoring, and organizational governance that reflect Islamic values and principles.
