Virtual Summer Camp 2020

The Adolescent Summer Camp went virtual in 2020. The Aafiyah Project offered students (ages 7 - 12 years) 2-weeks of interactive activities  focusing on physical health and social & emotional well-being. 

Week 1: Healthy Habits. Students learned about anatomy and physiology and were guided in cardio workouts that they can safely engage in in the comfort of their homes, in abiding by the state-wide stay-at-home order. They also learned about the different food groups and participated in making healthy snacks and lunches.

Week 2: Managing Emotions. Students were introduced to meditation and yoga as alternative ways to manage their emotions and use different muscles groups as an optional form of exercise. They ended the week with discussions about social justice and how to cope socially and emotionally with COVID-19 restrictions.
